Artists statement: "In the original installation “Know Coal - No Coal” each strand of pollutants was laboriously attached to the ceiling (along with other components). Individually strung strands allowed me to hang them in different configurations depending on the installation space. Recently, I gave new life to this work about particulate matter by attaching all the wires together in one complete sculpture. Air quality is still a vital issue. Changing the format lets me exhibit the idea in a more compact, now, easy to hang sculpture. Reinventing artworks to meet changing conditions is an important process for artists."
