"Years overdue, the manager recommended her for a key promotion, at a time when the company was active to address its visible gender gaps. Despite her hard work and impeccable track record, for years she watched less-deserving colleagues move forward. Getting the opportunity to be seen, recognized and remunerated at the right level was well overdue. One day, she was stopped in the corridor by a female colleague. The promotion process came up, as this one was an important level – one that was perceived as being somewhat mythological as well as filled with privilege and self-determination.
